So, despite NOT playing World of Warcraft anymore, I decided that the new Illidan action figure was so cool, that I want a bigger version of it. 
I made the armature last night (1/6" scale) and added the wing pegs at the end. The wings are going to give me a bit of trouble, I think, as I haven't read much about making wings successfully. I'll worry about that in a few days from now. 
There isn't a lot of hi-res reference pictures for Illidan, so I ordered the toy as an additional reference point. The sculpt isn't going to be a straight rip of the toy, but I am limited by Illidan's weapon and general look. I thought maybe a transformation scene, where Illidan becomes a demon from his Night Elf race. However, the transformation happened over time, according to WoW lore. Oh well, maybe a custom weapon and a dynamic pose. This is an ambitious project to begin with, especially for my second project. More stories to come...
